Well the wife and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary at Local Yocal in McKinney last night. This was our second trip to the restaurant and I am officially hooked. If you are in the Dallas area I’d strongly recommend you check it out. Their meat market down the street is fantastic as well.
The steak is second to none in my opinion and the service is fantastic. Best part is it’s not stuffy at all. Want to wear a suit? Fine Shorts? Fine. Boots and jeans? Dang skippy, that’s how I roll Plus Matt the owner is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met.
Not pictured is fried okra appetizer and the wife’s smoked / fried chicken fried steak. Both were outstanding and she says one of these days she MIGHT try something and else on the menu
Pictured are the special of the night which was tri-tip and and banana puddin’ pie. Ladies and Gents, I was stuffed.

They make a mean meal, no doubt about it. His Moscow Mule is first rate on a hot day, BTW. When you go back next for dinner, scope around for a sturdy gent in a sugar scoop straw cowboy hat, that’s Matt Hamilton the owner. Tell him his banker friend from up on Weston Road says hello.
BE WELL, BUT NOT DONE
Hank: "Do you know how to jumpstart a man's heart with a downed power line?"
Bobby: "No."
Hank: "Well, there's really no wrong way to do it."

We chatted with him a while on Friday night. My wife told him that I had really enjoyed the steak class. Especially the part where I came back and told her she likes her steaks ruined… he said “I see you got a mule, that’s WELL DONE”

Haha - he told that story in the class. It’s classic!
