Roscoes Smokehouse, Burleson TX

Postby chilibbq » Mon Feb 23, 2009 10:36 am

For the DFW, probably more Ft Worth guys and gals, new one opened in Burleson. The owners and pit bosses are a couple of guys who worked at North Main BBQ some time back, according to the rumor mill. Had some guys I know that have tried them already, one of them had lean sliced, said it was very lean, so a little dry he says, the other gots ribs and said he was very pleased with them. By the way they are using 18oz schooners for the beer and the mugs are very cold. I'm going by to check them out in a day or two. Maybe the bbq also

Big corner shopping center, not a normal strip mall. Clusters of stores, the bbq place sits by itself. Has a nice patio that sits facing the southeast, ceiling fans outside, regular garage doors, 3 of them if I e remember right open out to the patio area, the schooners are cold, for the guys and gals who have been to Railhead or Angelo's, they were ever bit as frosty. Had the sliced from the high side, quite good, sauce on the side, not sure what I think of it yet. Line style service like Cousin's or Railhead. All the sides, I didn't get any this trip. I'm planning on stopping Wed on the way home and trying some more.

Good all around BBQ here. I can't seem to stay away from the pulled pork myself. It's all even better with the big cold schooners!

Good Que, good sides and cold beer. One of the best brisket sammies out there, they have a sliced Po Boy that is great and the sweet potato fries are awesome.
Great food and service as well. :thap:
How bout some more beans Mr.Taggert? I'd say you've had enough!
