Live Oak?
Anyone use live oak in their stick burner? I have access to a ton of it. Been using Post or Blackjack oak.

I use live oak all the time. Just make sure it is dry.

Re: Live Oak?
Thanks for the info guys.
one more question, does it split well when it's dry?
I hit a piece with my maul and it bounced off. The tree was standing earlier this week.

It is a hard splitting wood. Also get a long burn time out of it.

I had a bunch of it from Ike that I collected in the neighborhood. Much of it ended up in the fire pit throughout the years.
