I thought I would never learn how to use a steel, a stone and a ceramic but the years and the internet finally taught me. Today I sharpen all the knives, scissors not to mention the axes and hoes, so learn it and it will be a skill you will always need. My wife can dull a knife quick, so I get real good at sharpening them because there are always dull knives in the kitchen; with time you will learn, and can then keep your treasures in you own company. :D

X 2

Get a steel and sharpen your own.

Well heck!! There we go, now I am sharpening knives. The wife will love it.. :)

..................

Think im going to leave the handle as it is at the moment, but do some work and learn how to sharpen my own knives. THOUGH I am going to definitely use this bad boy. Its going to be trimming pounds and pounds of brisket and ribs before it gets handed down to the little guy one day.

Thanks guys

The knife on the left is for dispatching animals and used in our abattoirs here, this knife is 40 years old. The middle is my main carving knife I bought in the u.k. The right is a steel for sharpening all knives. It is also 40 years old ex abattoirs as well. I sharpen every time I'm cutting up a roast or something big. I have another knife very similar to yours rus, but can't find it at present.

Glad to see you wanting to sharpen - - - once you get the "proper" (that's proper) edge on them, then this little sharpener should keep you in the slicing bizz until their edges need tweeking
