Uds first cook
I will finish my uds this weekend and need suggestions on what my first cook should be. We are having our men's cook off this SAT and would like to enter. I'm on a budget so I can't spend to much.

Pork butt! Very forgiving and you can usually find on sale.

If you want easy and hard to screw up, bacon wrapped pork loin.

Re: Uds first cook
It's now past your deadline but I had my first smoke last weekend on my UDS. Seasoned it with a slab of maple bacon the night before and then for game day I did a pork butt, half dozen chicken thighs and bacon wrapped torpedoes.

Oh yeah, I read the Disaster story... I didn't put the two together.
