So I had a turkey in the freezer…

Postby bsooner75 » Sun Mar 05, 2017 7:17 pm

Decided on Tuesday to pull it out for a Sunday cook…on Thursday (point of no return) I come down with the crud. On Friday it knocks me on my butt…so Today I cook a turkey hopped up on cold meds in the cool drizzle and not really feeling it. Wife had a b-day party with the kids so we decided the whole meal should be thrown on the pit.

Cooked the turkey a little over what it should and dried it out a bit. My own fault, not sure why I didn't just get the wireless thermometer out. Oh yea…cold meds. Flavor was good (according to the wife).

Simple brine Turkey rubbed w/ Meat Church The Gospel (great color) and I drizzled mine w/ Sucklebuster Chipotle (good stuff)

Onion and cabbage smoked with butter and Sucklebusters SPG.

Thanks OUP - got that nice rattle in the chest so I might be seeing the doc if it doesn't clear up.

WV - you really need it. SPG sounds so simple but it's the perfect blend. I think Gator squeezes unicorn tears in it :) great on veggies and meats. Real nice on steaks.

Very nice cook brother, do you as a side do cranberry jelly? Very popular here.
