My First BBQ of the Season: Baby Backs

Postby Professor Bunky » Sun Apr 30, 2017 7:37 pm

We bought a rack of baby back ribs on sale a couple of days ago and today I was able to have my first BBQ of the season.

We used the Hog Waller rub and some oak chips for smoke, in my Weber Kettle. We were more than pleased with the results.

Here are the finished ribs on the Weber:

Here they are inside, after a brief rest:

And best of all, on a plate with a slaw and some smashed potatoes:

Excellent looking plate here! While those have to suffer an "off season", I do not! I like to cook in any and all weather conditions!!

Thanks everyone.

The funny thing was, the day before the BBQ (Sat) the temperature here got up in the 80's, but on Sun, it barely broke 60 degrees. Still, it beats winter weather.

Great looking BB!! It doesn't get too tremendously cold in the south, but winter doesn't deter me from the 'que!! I'd probably have something different to say in 3 feet of snow with temps below zero. Lol!

Lookin good. Yeah, we are blessed with year round Q weather, but I have found its just not worth it keeping a stick burner up to proper heat when its really cold. Go through way too much wood like that.
