Birthday cook and cake
Yesterday was my birthday, and I decided I wanted some brisket. I recently picked up a Masterbuilt electric cabinet smoker just to keep things warm or even to get my brisket fix midweek.
No smoke ring but TONS of smoke flavor.
Anyhow, had brisket for breakfast and dinner. My wife made me a cake- in the shape and style of a brisket. Smoke ring and all. Check the pictures. I told her we may put that in one of the throw downs.
Anyhow, just wanted to share.

Well Happy Belated to You That cake looks as delicious as it is "Innovative" - Kudos to the Wiffy How did you determine the grain direction before slicing?

I'm just going to go ahead and ask.
Is your wife willing to share the recipe? That would be a trip at the cook off.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes.
"How did you determine the grain direction before slicing? "
She trimmed the opposite corner to round it off (like I do on my real briskets).
Tx1911- I'll ask her about sharing the recipe... I'm sure she won't mind.
I definitely married above my station- she's supportive, kind, creative and gorgeous...

Welcome to the club brother. I most definitely out-kicked my coverage as well.
