Hey bill, sometimes you guys write about merican foods and I have to figure out what you guys eat, I'm having vegemite ( by product yeast extract) on crumpets. Buttered before the vegemite, then with a cup of earl grey tea. Did you try either of these on your travels in nz. Vegemite is similar to marmite, which is more Australian. Anyway that's my lunch now. Pic to follow.

We babysat the grand kids last night, we picked up fish n chips on the way through. I do my own fish n chips here, twice fried chips and beer batter fried blue cod. I know you mericans love fish, but you ain't had fish til you tried our blue cod. The further south you get it from, the better. The colder the water the better.i get mine from a friend on Stewart island. Friends often ask for it when I cook dinner for them.

Thought you guys were more marmite?? We are vegemite here, but my daughter is marmite. I've indoctrinated my grand kids to like vegemite, I put it in their baby veges when they were young, and use it also in my gravy when we have a roast.

Rofl! One of my former coworkers was from NZ as well. She loved the stuff. I think it smells like a stale sock but I'm sure I've eaten worse. Lol
