SwampDonkeyz is a UDS fella. If you were closer to me, I'd drive over and take a looksie myself and see what I could work out. You're a tad far though at 6 hours away. Lol. I dunno, the wife HAS been wanting a road trip.. Anywho. Sounds like some fire troubles. Too much air, most likely (if it hasn't been mentioned already).

Bobby: "No."

Haven't thought of BluDawg in quite some time…
Big Ed is definitely a good dude to talk to…he knows UDS as good as anybody. Doesn't mind sharing his knowledge either.

I miss his input also - - - he shared a Brisket Recipe with me that I have GOT to try and soon - - - the reason I haven't, as yet, is because of having to attend to the Wife and not being able to baby sit a longer cook - - - - hopefully I can find time when "I" can give the Recipe the time and attention it deserves.

Big Ed is by trade a metal fabricator so his UDS is special in that it is bulletproof. I'm sure he could cook winning Q on a garbage can but his UDS is a thing of beauty.

Re: Piece of junk uds
I started out about 40 years ago on an UDS. The former owner of my home left it behind when I moved in. I used it for several years and cooked a lot of cue and burgers on it. I have to confess the only good thing about it was It's price. I finally saved up enough to purchase my heavy duty offset smoker. That was a happy day and I still love it.
