I don't know why I don't cook turkey breast more often. The family always pigs out, and I enjoy it the next day as well as a sandwich. I guess because local markets don't carry it. I need to take a trip and stock up on a dozen.

Buy a whole bird and break it down yourself! If you're not a fan of legs, they always make good additions to beans if you cure and smoke em first. Then there's always Turkey stock too!
Great looking gobbler you cooked up!

Great idea. The best gumbo that I ever made was from left over meat from a smoked turkey. I boiled the bones for about 6 hours for a stock. I just need prodding at my age.
Thanks OUP.

I just happened to see one in Tyler, when I went to the VA. I can't find any locally. HEB carries them, but the closest one is 56 miles away.

I'm wondering where to buy turkey breast like that in North Dallas... My better half doesn't eat beef or pork so unless I'm throwing chicken on, my BBQ is a selfish endeavor ;-). It'd be good to have options on multiple things I can cook her. Maybe I'll try to pick one of these up for my inaugural cook on the YS640 I'm picking up tonight.

Do you have a Winco? I ordered a fresh turkey breast from them I pick up Friday. They just included an extra for the ones they order for their deli. Didn't have one they could part with last Sat but I dont mind waiting a week for a fresh one.
