Smoked Jalaps
I usually bake my jalaps, but this last time around, I smoked 'em, and it was a definite enhancement. I am not a fan of cream cheese, so I stuff my jalaps with a mixture of ground beef (with seasonings) and shredded cheddar. Made around 40 of 'em and they were gone just like that.

I'm sure jwh will agree when I say "They ARE addictive" - - - one tip I might mention is that I've had better luck pre-mixing the goodies and then packing them in the penner instead of layering - - - some of those SB goodies would go well on or in them also

I premix the beef and cheese then pack, so yep.

Re: Smoked Jalaps
For folks that do like cream cheese, you can pre-blend your mixture of meat, cheese, goodies and spices then place in a one or two gallon baggie, spread out and freeze and then cut into thin slices, making it much easier and faster to load into the peppers before wrapping in bacon.
I've found that making large (sometimes very large) batches does little good, they still go missing in short order.
