Postby JustinCouch » Wed Aug 16, 2017 2:51 pm

has anyone smoked beef short ribs? I see them at the grocery store all the time and started wondering about the. they are cut in half long ways so the marrow of the bone is exposed. do yall think this would work? still trying to find a store that will sell the plate ribs yall smoke out there in Texas.

I've smoked them up a few times. Pretty darn tasty and have some meat to them. But at $7.50 a lb to me at least they ain't worth it. I'll grab a pack now and then if I find them in the must sell today bin at 50% off.

Expensive but some of the best beef you will ever eat.
The only thing that keeps me from going on an all beef "plate rib" diet is the cost..
In Austin, HEB sells them for $5.50 an lb.

well its official. there are no grocery stores around here that cut their own beef short ribs so I cant buy plate ribs. sounds like I have to take a road trip to try to find some.

it's my favorite thing to cook. smaller piece of meat than brisket so easier to not screw up, but better than the moistest brisket point I've had
