Easter Menu Thread

Postby Rambo » Sun Mar 25, 2018 4:40 am

What is everyone doing for Easter ? Our Family has always gone traditional with Ham, Chicken & Dressing, Chicken & Dumplings, ETC so I was shocked when they asked me to cook BBQ. It's actually a compliment of sorts. I'm just going to go with the Texas Trinity, Brisket, Ribs, and Sausage. Can't wait to try my Suckle Busters spices I received :D

Don't know if I can pull it off but I'm wanting to do a very small whole dressed Gator in my Pellet Pooper. I've been in contact with a Co. in Louisiana that seem to have just what I need. The only things holding me up is getting the shipping, time of delivery and "will it fit in my Pit Boss details" all lined up and answered. :dont: :salut:

thanks, B.C., I don't want to hi-jack Rambo's Thread so as I get closer to ?reality? I'll start my Gator Easter Grill Thread. However, one more comment and I'll get outa here - - - I've talked to two ladies at the Location but none have given me the info that I need so first of the week I'll see if I can speak to a "hands on butcher there" - - this pic below was all the one lady provided me with and it's just not enuff to make my decision on. It's supposed to be 4' long but I need more info which I'll pursue later - - I'm out here :salut:

We had discussion here yesterday, seems I'm going to be busy. Kids got me a rotisserie with 15 kg limit on meat. I'll be doing charcoal and a whole leg of lamb over that, then in the oven a half ham with bourbon glaze. Looking forward to doing the charcoal cook. We're having ours on the Sunday.

I think my Family is confusing Easter & The 4Th of July; I'm now told they're doing Peach Cobbler and Home Made Ice Cream.

Steady the course ; my responsibility is the Meat :dont:

We are having a sunrise service at church with breakfast afterwards. I am going to use my dads recipe for a spiral ham on the grill. He puts pineapple and cherry's on it. I remember the old folks doing ham like that in the oven. I can't wait.
