Online Brisket

Postby RUBYRW » Wed Apr 18, 2018 7:18 pm

Anyone ever order a brisket and have it shipped?
They arrive frozen I would imagine?
Any luck, advice or recommendations?

Thanks

I haven’t and unless it’s someone you trust I wouldn’t do it. I only purchase left handed brisket I can fold and see how thick the flat is

Call and ask. If you are ordering through a reputable place I wouldn’t be concerned. If it’s on Craigslist then that’s a different story :)

I’ve just never done it because the price can be outrageous

I have....once. It was from http://abarnranch.com/

It came in frozen stiff, in a styrfoam box with dry ice. I did regular 3 day shipping (don't remember how much it cost) and it came in the next day. Crazy thing was that I got a call from FedEx the day after I ordered it and the lady said she had a box with "Perishable" written on the outside and was concerned because the delivery day wasn't for a couple of more days. I asked where she was located and fortunately she was close enough to my office that I drove there during my lunch our that day to pick it up.

We used to order from Creekstone exclusively for comps. The briskets come thawed and packed in ice packs.

Never ordered Briskets, but ike Rambo, I'm leery of ordering anything that's perishable food online. They have to have a pretty stellar rep before I'd consider a company for that.

On the flip side, you have a few recommendations here already. If Creekstone is good enough for K.A.M.'s competition brisket, that'd be about all I need to know. :D
