I'm still here, kinda.

I really hate that I have been off the forum for all this time, I miss it, and the friends that I have made here more than you could possibly know. I have had to suspend my business operations to work elsewhere so I could get good health insurance. As a small business owner it was impossible to find at any cost. Now I am back to working 12 hr days 5 days a week and recuperating the other 2. Not exactly what I wanted to be doing at 61yo but it is what it is.
I check in from time to time and see all the great cooks going on and will continue to do so. I miss y'all.

Orneryness???? Whatever do you mean??? Surely you are mistaken. Well, maybe a little, but I am 100% TEXAN so that might explain it.

Wish I could hand you a jar of the latest salsa batch. I made 5 gal and it is one of my best. I miss you my friend...

The (UN) Affordable Care Act has helped some, devastated many.

It has decimated the health care system and harmed far more than it helped in my opinion. I was making a very nice living as a small business owner but could not get a PPO plan at any price, and that was all my specialist could take. I went without for 3 years and in truth it probably set my treatment back to a level that can never be attained again.

If I said any more about this I'd get banned, but even doctors agree.

Outlaw, We are the same age and I understand what you mean about the other 2 days to recuperate. Five 10-12 hour workday and 1 Saturday a month is all I can handle. Next month I'll be 62 but I can't hang it up yet. Gotta wait it out to 66 years and 4 months. Good luck my friend!

Understood, brother. I moved to where we are now in hopes of retiring.. 3 jobs later, that's not anywhere on the near horizon.

Good Luck, Outlaw.

I totally agree with you on the so-called ACA.

It's like something out of Atlas Shrugged. :(

Hang in there, Outlaw. Hope things improve.

ACA... Nuff said. Oregon's pushing it's own version with even more taxes to pay for it, and here in CA they're trying to go full blown single payer. Works so well in England and Canada after all. :banghead:

Anyway, hope you can find more time to visit here. :salut: :D

I know how you feel, both being away and the insurance. Not so affordable for us small business owners
