Sometimes...

I amaze even myself! - Han Solo

Turned out some amazing looking boneless skinless chicken breasts tonight. Did my usual routine of !80 degrees on the Rec Tec till they hot 110 degrees internal temp, then onto the Weber to finish and sear.

Golden brown and delicious

and here's how the finished plate came out, with a bit of mixed veggies and some strawberry apple sauce in a cup.

:D

Chicken took about an hour and 20 on the Rec Tec, and about another 15 or so on the Weber. I probably would have gotten better grill marks if I'd fired up the Weber a bit sooner and let the rack get hot. Flavor was great with just SPG for seasoning, and just the right amount of moisture (juicy but not draining everywhere). Mesquite pellets on the smoke also in case anyone's curious.

Nice looking Bird; unique but I think cool idea of using the 2 cookers.

I've been doing it since I got the Weber. It's actually worked out pretty well other than the extra clean up and fuel costs. I get good smoke flavor, then can crisp the surface of chicken, burgers, steak, ribs, etc...

Despite the fact that the Rec Tec can get up to 475 (supposedly 500, but it's never quite reached it, LOL), the one thing it fails at is searing meat. Now I get smoke and grill marks.

Looks great! I agree, I have a pellet cooker and it doesn't make a great grill.

Thanks
