Which cooker should i use????

Postby JustinCouch » Fri Aug 31, 2018 6:47 pm

I'm doing a Boston butt for Monday. Should I use the offset smoker or snake method on the weber? Looking for input.

I vote Offset, Get an extra good smoke on it and build that bark.

If you got the time to fiddle with the stick burner then that’s your best bet.

I should have plenty of time. I plan on starting around 1 am Sunday morning. That way I can catch a nap before the friends arrive.I got to get the smoker cleaned out and ready.

Well I got the coals lite at 1230 this morning. I let the butt brine for roughly 11 hours so I don't think I will inject this time. This is my first time bringing a butt so I really hope it turns out good. Now all I have to do is figure out how and when I foil it and we are good. I think I am going to put it in a tin pan at around the 6 hour mark. Oh yeah!!! I forgot to say I am using oak lumps for smoke. I used the same kind last time I did a brisket and I loved the flavor.
