Christmas dinner
Ok... So help me out here. Do i want to do a traditional Christmas dinner or do I want to switch. It up. I thought about doing brisket rice and beans, I thought about doing a prime rib and then there's traditional turkey. I wouldn't mind trying a goose but I know my family will eat the previously mentioned items. Um up for suggestions. ..

No one can answer your questions but you.
We do the old East Texas traditional stuff. chicken & Dressing, Chicken & Dumplings, Ham, purple hull peas, creamed corn, green bean casserole, mac&Cheese, hot rolls, pies and cookies. There will probably also be mashed potatoes and some carrots/broccoli stuff.

I either do a home cured ham or a Mexican spread; tamales, enchiladas, chimichangas, etc.. l

Re: Christmas dinner
We do ham roast, pork rib (like a bacon side with bone) both with crisp skin and meatballs from pork. Sauerkraut, boiled potatoes and gravy. Like these examples (not mine cooking).

Re: Christmas dinner
We have a big family gathering with my family Christmas Day. It’s basically identical to Thanksgiving. Turkey, dressing, ham…etc. same every year my entire life. I like it that way. I don’t contribute much here because well. You just don’t mess with this menu :) As Rambo said, traditional East Texas. It’s the way my Meemaw did it!
On Christmas Eve my In Laws come over and the wife and I vary it up. We’ve done prime rib (this is where I found out they don’t know how to eat a properly cooked piece of meat) brisket, ribs, steaks, fried catfish. Basically just whatever sounds good. Not sure what we are doing yet this year.
I guess my point is…don’t over think it. Do whatever it is you guys like. Try to get a consensus so most everybody will eat it and just enjoy spending time together.

Re: Christmas dinner
I'll be going to my Youngest Son and D.I.L.s Christmas Eve and then to my Oldest Son and his Wife's Christmas Day. So far all I've been told to bring was Stuffed Jalapenos topped with Bacon and a Pinata with Candy inside.
This is what the Jalapenos will look like.

Re: Christmas dinner
I look forward to the family gathering, particularly this time of the year and keeping the fire stoked for my Prime Rib Roast is where its at. We have tamales all prepped up, chicken, pork and even the jalapeño cheese ones my sister in law made up.
