Rainy day chuck short ribs

Postby Txdragon » Fri Dec 14, 2018 3:31 pm

It has been pouring outside today but, it was no deterrent for firing up the pit! Found some nice chuck short ribs and giving them some grief! Briquettes and mesquite, 225-250°..

Rubbed with 1836 and Hog Waller honey..

5 hours on the pit..

About to sauce em and let em coast. Should be done in about an hour!

I sauced them with Sweet Baby Rays Bourbon/honey. They're resting now in the oven whilst I make my sides..

I saw some beef ribs at the grocery store the other day but they were already cut into individual ribs. I didn't know about them being already cut plus I was broke so I had to pass. If I see them pre cut again do you think I should try them?

Thanks all! Moved my smoker to the "utility" shed. It's large with plenty open space and kept the rain off it. Lol!

Most times all you find is the cut version and those like this, you have to source from a butcher shop.

Thanks all! These turned out fantastic. I'll definitely need to grab more before they stop selling them. :(
