Smoker burn off

Postby JustinCouch » Sun Dec 30, 2018 9:36 pm

Its been way to long since I used my offset and I have a little bit of mold to contend with. I dont have a weed burner so I am going toget a cheap bag of charcoal and heat up the cook box. Should I still wash and scrub the grates after the burn off?

Had that happen on my old stick burner. I just lit it up. They sell a $20 wand at harbor freight if you want to be sure. Attach to a propane and burn away... You should be fine. My Pitts and spits coming up on 22 years is still doing ok.... good luck...

Recommend picking up a Bernzomatic butane torch. Cheap, hot, easy, and everybody from box stores to bait shops stocks the little butane replacement tanks. Great fire starter too.
BE WELL, BUT NOT DONE
Hank: "Do you know how to jumpstart a man's heart with a downed power line?"
Bobby: "No."
Hank: "Well, there's really no wrong way to do it."

LMAO!!!!

For chamber burnout, I'd pile up some wood and just let it burn. Brush the grates when the fire dies down, then clean out the chamber after it's out. Done and done!
