New Years Game day eats

Postby egghead » Tue Jan 01, 2019 9:25 pm

Cabbage, black eyed peas, and baby backs. Life is good.

Pork and venison in the cabbage dish along with Sucklebuster SPG and a couple tablespoons of SPG in the peas. Baby backs rubbed with S/B Texas Pecan.

Thanks Sooner

The rest of the story. I made the peas and cabbage yesterday morning and went to dinner with some friends. I was to smoke the ribs this morning and the same group was going to come over to watch some football. Started feeling real bad and didn’t even order a meal. Told them I needed to cancel today’s get together and stopped at a “Doc in the Box” (Physicians Premier - open 24 hours) on the way home. Checked all the vitals and with the exception of a low fever was good. Ached all over and had chills just like flu. Got swabbed, a first, but didn’t test out for flu. Doc said they get a bunch of false negatives so started with typical flu treatment. Feeling much better - all good.

I asked for a second opinion and then said I was so ugly I had to wear a mask.

Meanwhile, I smoked the ribs and sent to a friends house for the same group to enjoy. :D

LOL! That mask will teach you to ask for a second opinion :)

Glad it wasn’t positive. Rest up and feel better.

Get better EH !

Load up on the Honey and Garlic, always works for me.
Call me what you like, but I always benefit from the sliced up Onions when I sleep.
One sliced up on the night stand and another sliced up between my socks and the botton of my feet.....

Laugh if you may, but I truly believe in this old remedy.
