Inkbird waterproof thermometer review.

Postby k.a.m. » Mon Feb 25, 2019 7:29 am

Between competition cooking and judging Debbie and I have had little time to cook at home. I got the newest addition to the Inkbird line awhile back and have been wanting to play with it more than just at a comp. so this weekend I put it to the test. With a 1500 estimated range this unit fits my needs I like the blue tooth units but when I am busy on my phone it is nice to have a stand alone unit and this thing delivers. With four probes and waterproof are what sold me on it.
Sunday was pork butt and rib day :D.
I like SuckleBusters Texas Pecan as a base then SPG on top they really make a great combination.

Then on to the WSM with a hickory and oak smoke bath.

Once the butt hit 170°it was looking pretty and time to wrap.

This is what I love about the Inkbird units. Four probes long enough to multitask on two cookers.
The ribs went on the drum the Inkbird hanging on the Old Smoky between them.

The pork butt after resting with a nice clean bone.

All pulled and ready for some coleslaw and a bun.

The ribs got hit before my usual pics But I got a couple lol.

Here is a pic of the unit up close.

In closing I am well pleased with this unit I would like the alarm to be a bit louder as I have Tinnitus which blocks out soft high pitch sounds. Debbie can hear it but I cannot lol.
if you are not into bluetooth and wanting a four probe unit that is waterproof check out the Inkbird IRF-4S

Good looking pictures as always, Thanks for the review on the inkbird. That’s my next investment for sure, just gotta figure out which one I want as I was leaning towards the Bluetooth unit.

I was talking with Anne HQ this morning and she asked me to share a 15% promo sale on the IBT-4XS blue tooth unit. Just click the promo tab and you should get the discount.

Using my Inkbird today. This is only the second time to use it, but I really like it. Way easier to deal with than my old Maverick unit.

I had just stuck those chuckies on in that pic. That color comes from applying the rub the night before. Never done that before, but thought I'd give it a try. I hope don't regret it... Certainly easier to experiment when you spend $12 on meat, and not $100+
