Pre-Easter spares!

Postby Txdragon » Sat Apr 20, 2019 7:38 pm

Found a local Facebook marketplace post about free oak firewood so, I had to capitalize. This was only what I had time to get today, I've been told they want the whole tree gone. I'm more than happy to haul it away as I have no BBQ trees on my property.

With that, I made fire! Made some pork spares utilizing all wood for the first time in a LONG time..

Thanks all! The wood is coming from an old oak. It's been down for a while now and it is nicely seasoned. I had to stop and get a new chain as mine was 3 years old and just kept losing its bite. Lol! I got 1 piece cut off in 20 minutes.. :banghead: After the new chain, I was able to get about 12 pieces about 10" thick and the diameter is large enough i need to cut from both sides with a 20" saw.. they're about 33" across at its thickest.

Pork butt is on for today with another roaring oak fire!
