Father's Day cooking

Postby TX1911 » Sun Jun 16, 2019 10:43 am

My standard request for Father's Day is that I want to cook, but not have to clean. My bride humors me. Today, we are having my mom and dad and her mom and dad over. A bit of a smorgasbord. Appetizers will include beef ribs, brie baked in a croissant, Rainier cherries and a few other completely random things. Dinner is beef tenderloin, creamed corn and salad, with a cheesevake for dessert.

Beef ribs went on the pellet pooper about 7:15 this morning. Rolling along!

Slathered with a bit of Franks Red Hot, then rubbed with a 50/50 mix of salt and course ground pepper.

Smoking with post oak pellets at 275. More to come!

Always! Forgot to mention the Father in law wants to experiment and make his own octopus.....hence the load of appetizers. You know, just in case.

Dino bones are done. Cut one off to bring over to a neighbor, cause we don't need THAT much. The rest are resting. Sliced the tenderloin and getting ready to fire up the kamado in the rain! I hope everyone is enjoying their day as much as I!
