Nice color on those ribs. How was the taste? If they taste as good as they look you did good.

The group that judged this time around (because wife and family bbq’d out have to have friends over ). Like the exotic flavor better but loved both but forced to make a decision. :). Btw if curious about exotic flavor it is a Indian flavor called tandoori. I took the tandoori and added some flavors and with the sauce i used really tones down the curry and only left a flavor no one could pinpoint. Image

Happy Group there - - - - that tandoori spice is what some of us call "Russ Dust" because he made and shipped some to us a couple years ago. :wav:

Looks like a happy crowd. I need to try some tandoori on some chicken or ribs

Hmmm? well since Russ (manufacturer's name) is in New Zealand and he make the stuff he sent to us, you might see if he'll give you his Recipe. It may be posted on here so I'll take a look. Just PM Russ and see what he offers - - - He's a great Guy and I'm sure he'll help you if he can. :salut:

OK, I found the Thread with his Recipe that he kindly shared with us a couple of years ago so here's what Russ had to say originally about Tandoori Seasonings.
My tandoori mix. I use whole seeds but you can use ground if you want. I buy seeds then dry roast then grind in a coffee grinder.
1 small frypan. Put these ingredients in pan
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon coriander seeds
1 teaspoon fennel seeds
1 teaspoon red chilly powder
5 whole green cardamom seeds
1 teaspoon peppercorns
2 bay leaves
Dry roast til you smell the flavours coming out, don't burn. Put in a coffee grinder and blend. Keep aside this will make 2 or 3 different meals.
Get the chicken out and add

1/2 teaspoon asafoetida powder
1 teaspoon of the ground spices
Some garlic crushed and ginger as well if you have some.
Some plain yoghurt and mix it all together. I add a red powder I get from a spice shop, it just adds the colour. Mix til it's all a light red colour and put in fridge overnight if possible.
Cooking it
I put foil over a oven rack and then put the chicken on the rack and I just grill it under the oven grill. The taste is unbelievable.

See how you guys go.
Another fave of mine is the onion bhajees, I know you guys would love these snack pieces. Served with a cucumber rhaita. Hollow if you want to try. You can use leftover ground spice you may have made earlier.

Russ
