Chukity Chuck Chuck

Postby Larry Wolfe » Sun Mar 09, 2008 10:28 am

Wind and rain finally calmed down so it's time for a weekend cook and what better than a chuck roast! Same method, worcestershire and Wolfe Rub Bold, smoking over Royal Oak and 3 hickory chunks. It's a small chuck about 4lbs. Gonna do another competition chicken practice later too, need to practice for Salisbury!

I also installed my BQ250 Tel Tru Thermometer onto Junior!

The roast is lookin good.

Not that it matters what I like, but...I don't care so much for chicken thighs...does anyone ever turn in anything other than thighs for comps?

I love chicken thighs, however you and I are thinking alike! I'm thinking about trying breasts at some point this season just to be different!

Chicken is done! PDG!!

I don't like chicken thighs unless they are smoked then they are the best. Just like a butt or other fatty meat render off the fat and ya have tasty, tender juicy goodness.

Larry, saw this on the other forum, but didn't respond. Chuck and chicken look really good. The pulled chuck looks really moist - hard to do sometimes. Nice job!

I've never had smoked chuck. That is about the only kind of roast I ever cook so might just have to try it.

Good job, Larry!
