If Festus Haggan were Cooking
Ol Festus would probably say "Today was dang near Hollypenner Day and I ain't never done me no ?ripper? over hot coals instead of fry'n in oil, don'tcha see?"
ABT's: Jalapeno filled with Jalapeno Cream Chez and Jalapeno Jelly and wrapped with Jalapeno Bacon.
Hot Dawg: weener wrapped in Jalapeno Bacon, on a bun with Jalapeno Sooner Sauce, Jalapeno Chez and Sweet Jalapeno Relish.
Think I'll look around HEB and see if they have any Jalapeno Hot Dog Buns
Hey Pocono Pal, is it legal to call it a Ripper if it ain't Fried
Disclaimer: the nekkid frankfurter was the Wiffy's.

No Hi-Jack at all, S.T. Pal - - - "WE" are avid Ken Curtis fans and have been for years. Speaking of his great voice, I heard a story/rumor that back in the early days he was in line for the same Male Vocalist job that ol Blue Eyes ended up getting. Can't remember if it was Tommy Dorsey's Band or what but it was one of the Big Bands of the past.

Re: If Festus Haggan were Cooking
Just Googled this:
Curtis was a singer before moving into acting, and combined both careers once he entered films.[4] Curtis was with the Tommy Dorsey band in 1941, and succeeded Frank Sinatra as vocalist until Dick Haymes contractually replaced Sinatra in 1942. Curtis may have served simply as insurance against Sinatra's likely defection, and it was Dorsey who suggested that Gates change his name to Ken Curtis. Curtis then joined Shep Fields and His New Music, an all-reeds band that dispensed with a brass section.

Re: If Festus Haggan were Cooking
We also love ABT's and Festus..
Saw an episode of Paladin recently where he played a seedy/stinky type, who had inherited a fancy gentleman's club run by an older but still very attractive lady.
He was repeatedly kicked out by the bouncers before he could prove he was the new owner, so he sang a love song to he lady boss.
Anyway, he had a wonderful smooth singing voice, at least as good as Sinatra.
The character he was playing was not quite but very close to Festus.

Thanks, C.D., I'll have to keep my eye out for that one.
Here's on of my Favorite songs by Mr. Curtis and the Sons of the Pioneers from the movie Rio Grande.
