Alabama White Sauce Wings

Postby bsooner75 » Sun Jan 24, 2021 9:10 pm

Did some wings seasoned copycat Nashville Hot and topped with Alabama White Sauce.

Breasts seasoned with Sucklebusters Texas Pecan for the kids and lunches this week.

Yes - there was LPG okra and it was good.

First time using the white sauce and I kind of like it. Nice change of pace. I tried at room temp and warm. Definitely better warmed up.

Thanks Rambo. I tend to take pics both ways. I’ll try and pay attention next time to how I take them and maybe that will fix it.

Love me some Bama White Sauce. My wife and cardiologist, not so much.

Plenty of on line recipes. Mayonnaise, vinegar and seasonings.

LOL - do you have a preference? I haven’t tried Big Bob Gibson’s yet but definitely want to for comparison

Haha - probably shouldn’t tell you I marinated that chicken in Mayo then. You can’t taste it and it really locks in the moisture.

But if you don’t care for Mayo on chicken you probably wouldn’t like the sauce

Sooner, is the Mayo that gives them a charred look ?
I know they are not burnt and have had my wings char also just with Kingsford and SB sprinkles :dont:

Actually Mayo let’s it take a higher heat without charring as bad. The copycat rub (darker breast and the wings) seemed to char more than the Sucklebusters. Maybe more sugar? I like a little char on mine so I tossed them on the great over direct heat for a few minutes.
