Griddle

Postby nascarchuck » Thu May 03, 2007 5:16 am

Was at Academy the other day and bought a cast iron griddle for the CG at a much better price than CG wants for theirs.

Got to wondering, do you have a griddle and if so, what all do you use it for?

I voted no, only because I don't have one. I would like too. I think they would be great for veggies, delicate fish, and other things.

Couldnt live without my griddle cept we dont use it for grilling. The warden uses it to cook breakfast on the stove..or sometimes for steaks or porkchops when its raining too hard to go outside and fire up the gas grill.

I'm with Laura. I don't own one, so I can't use one. I've looked at 'em a few times, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Honestly, I'm not sure at the moment how often I'd use it.

now, spose you have a weber kettle. Do you put the griddle on TOP of the grate or do you remove the grate and the griddle fits OVER the fire? How do these griddle things work?

Like BW, I got a counter top one for pancakes and sausage and hash browns and etc etc but never seen one for the grill

My gasser has a griddle on the left, grates on the right. Also has a WOK thing. All are cast iron and are interchangeable. I use the griddle when ever I make fajitas as the onions and peppers can't go anywhere! Also, toasts buns and makes a good warming plate.

I said No.
I have a couple griddles, but I don't use em for grillin...perfect for breakfast though. My favorite is a CI griddle on one side, and grill pan on the other side, but I only use that on the stove.
I want the smoke to really hit whatever I have on the grill.... not to mention the wasp of grease smoke when the fat drips down onto the coals.

Scotty

I have a gas griddle in the house. I love mine, you can use it for anything! Especially tortilias. We love hot tortilias.
