Went to the grocery store yesterday morning. Found a 17# and an 18# choice briskets for $1.49 a pound. Two days before the sell date. Brought them home and got the grinder out, and did a course grind on all of them. Then took 10# of that and reground it with a hamburger plate on it. Now I've got a stash of chili grand and hamburger.

Re: Ground Brisket
It has been a well-guarded secret about my burgers, but I too use ground brisket! Great find on those.

Re: Ground Brisket
A couple of years ago I was at the grocery store and they had some ground brisket. I think "That would make a great burger". So I bring some home. Patties on the grill and it kept flaming up. Not sure of the reason now, but I propped open the lid to the grill. I came inside for a minute or two and when I went back out, flames were shooting out. Yes, directly on the lid handle. Well, being the genius that I am, I reached for the handle to shut the lid.
I did sit down, with my hand in a pitcher of iced water, for dinner before going to the hospital.
