Beef Ribs and Bistros: Fate and Destiny

Postby Boots » Mon Jul 10, 2017 8:48 am

Was all set to participate in the Throwdown but was diverted by Fate towards an alternate Destiny. Walked into the Whole Foods w the wife to pick up the 5 items she absolutely must have that only they carry. Normally wouldn't buy their due to their prices and their meat section is usually pretty disappointing, with portions the size of golf balls. BUT ON THIS OCASSIIN they redeemed themselves. Walked up to the counter, and expecting a big ol Duck egg, decided to needle them a bit. "Got any beef ribs?!?!" I asked sarcastically, expecting them to come back w tofu and excuses. Little guy, wordless, toddles off back into the cooler, comes back 2 minutes later. "Here ya go. 1 rack left. 3 1/2 pounds, only $10 bucks" He smiles; its obvious he knew what I was up to, but he got the last laugh.

Well shut my mouth.

BE WELL, BUT NOT DONE
Hank: "Do you know how to jumpstart a man's heart with a downed power line?"
Bobby: "No."
Hank: "Well, there's really no wrong way to do it."

Dangit Boots. Wish I could find some bones with that much meat. Those look awesome.
The bones they sell here ain't got enough meat on them to even keep Buck happy.

Mighty fine looking plate of cow parts right there, look "delicious " :chef: :salut:

Wow Boots, I'm sure that I can speak for all the Throw Down Entrants when I say that "we are so glad that you went Bovine this time" :salut: I'm surprised you got out of the Market alive carrying that rare valuable in your cart for all to see.

They look great, boots.

If I asked for that in my local WF (in NY), they'd probably look at me like I had 3 heads & offer me some cruelty-free tofu instead.

That is one generous butcher. The gave you the beef rib and half of the rib eye steak attached to it!

Have to agree, not much meat on bones we get, they are really picked over.
