PizzaQue arrived today!

Postby 88rxna » Tue Jul 18, 2017 7:45 pm

Made up 2 dozen of wings too (sorry no pics of wings). Both covered in clucker dust, 1 dozen was sweet baby rays hot new spicy, the other was red hot sauce.

Now the pizza....
As the wings were cooking i slapped the Que together, it went great.
Loaded another load of charcoal ( that made 2 chimneys loads) and 4 bunks of wood. I made the pizza with homemade dough the night before with mozzarella cheese and pepperoni and shrooms....
When I went to slide the pizza from the peel to the stone...it didn't slide off. The toppings dumped into the fire!! :D :D :D :D

As you can see, all the toppings went to the left but the pizza was still amazing!Image

Thanks all! Good thing about pizza is that we never get tired of eating it! It's seriously a weekly thing in our house. That means I get to practice a LOT.
I have some pulled pork frozen, I may have to throw some on the next batch we make and try that out.
Wonder if I should use bbq sauce as the "sauce", or pizza sauce??
Hmmmm
BBQ sauce sounds so much better

I have no time for Perfect, Uniform, let's measure and make sure it's perfectly round or square pizzas..
I like the ones that have character, and look nothing like the last one just before.

So basically, that pizza right there is what makes Pizza.....well, a Pizza :):)

Looks awesome, and I'm sure it tastes even better.
NOW PASS IT OVER lol

As far as bbq sauce as a base, i did it once a while back and didn't put a layer of evoo on the dough before the sauce and it burnt a bit.
I think cuz the sugar content is higher than pizza sauce ?

Either way, it was still very good, sweet, but good.
U gotta let us know how u make out ok ?

Wv, I don't know if you have a garden, my wife does, I make my own pizza sauce, tomatoes from garden and basil and oregano picked straight from the garden. Cook up and I normally make enough for about 10 pizzas. Lots pepper and bit sugar. Everyone loves it. I freeze it as well.

I bet it tastes great. :chef:
Looking forward to more camping trip with my family. I need a new tonneau cover to secure my equipment and pit.
