Hot Dogs With A Twist...

Postby Sailor Kenshin » Fri Jul 28, 2017 3:12 pm

...and it wasn't the steamed naan bread. Or the summer-camp plastic trays.

Image

We were just going to scorch these dogs on the Weber Mini-Q when Professor heard a hissssss and stopped and looked.

SOMETHING had chewed through our gas line.

Image

We thought about the list of suspects: bunnies, chipmunks, squirrels, possums, raccoons, and concluded it could only be one thing:

The Jersey Devil. Or maybe El Chupacabra.

So now we gotta buy a new hose. And maybe some barbed wire.

Looks good from here !!!

And, as a Jersey native, i will only say one thing...

Don't joke about the Jersey Devil or the Hookerman. They are real, very real....

Check out the site ( www.weirdnj.com )
It's pretty fascinating to read some of the columns.
Look for ( shades of death Rd ), it's a good read for the campfire with a few drinks lol.

I used to get the monthly read when it was published and available.

Sailor, we have naan bread all the time here with our curries, I get a keema naan, it's exactly as your naan looks but it has a minced lamb filling. I really love it, wife just likes garlic naan. Btw, plate looks awesome.

So I'm thinking of putting some metal covering over the replacement hose to protect it. Lucky for that critter, I'm not crazy enough to hook that metal covering to a high voltage power supply (unless I take away the propane tank and just leave the bare hose as bait  ).

here's a OUP a la Red Green suggestion that might take care of the problem and safely also - - - - just get some over sized tubing (the clear stuff is pretty tuff) and then put it over your hose :dont:

even a chunk of garden hose would work and that stuff's pretty tuff also

Sailor, these strange happenings have been seen before, and we have identified the culprit:

Gnawus Jackalopus Gordocanis, or as more commonly known, the Great Northern Jackalope.

Now, while their numbers have dwindled to near extinction levels in modern times, don't be fooled by his rather demure appearance, this little brute is a stone cold killer the likes of which would cause Chuck Norris to dial the suicide hotline.

In Medevil times, roaming in vast herds of thousands across Scotland, they threatened the very existence of mankind itself, as revealed by the ancient order of the Puritan Monks of Northumberland in their "Tapestry of the Doom", recently discovered in a barricaded storeroom of the Castle Dunwiddya in the Scottish highlands:

"An it came thus to pass during the Feast of Feasting, in the Year 1032, the Lord in his displeasure to our laziness and iniquity has unleashed upon us a great Plague, a Plague of Horned Rabbits, in great multitudes outnumbering the sands of the beaches, that have blotted out the dusking sun and charged our Keeps in vast numbers, overwhelming the battlements, devouring up our grain and sipping up all of our ales, leaving the monks in despair and great suffering. The ominous beasts have made mockery of every knight sent against them and brought dispair upon the land. Beware the Horned Rabbits, all who come hence, beware!!"

Thanks OUP, that's a great suggestion.
I'm going to try it.

And Boots, if I see one of those Jackalopes I'll bravely run away. :D

I think it's your easy and economical solution PB - - - don't know if Y'all have ACE, Home Depot or Lowes but they carry all types and sizes of hose on a roll and it's sold by the foot - - - - I have used some clear before on a wire loom under the hood of my 55 Chebbie and it even looked Cool 8)
