Turkey and Bacon club

Postby outlaw » Sun Aug 06, 2017 9:12 am

Ok, I know I'm being lazy, but I need to do something with these 1/2 breasts. I bought 3 last weekend, fresh, and marinated them overnight in my own concoction, and then it rained. So I threw one in the oven and vac packed the other two. Cant say they are fresh anymore, but they have been brined for a while. One has a fajita rub, the other a lemon pepper and both get a little of my dalmation rub as well. Also throwing a few slices of bacon on to smoke as well. My best friend callled yesterday while he was at an estate sale and offered me this meat slicer for 30.00.
So mid afternoon meal will be the turket and bacon club, thinly sliced (gotta try out the new toy) homemade potato chips with a bacon and cheese dusting, and broccoli slaw. I'll post progress pics.

It was a deal. Never used, came with the book. It's not a big industrial like a Hobart or anything, but it's all I need. I wanted one for slicing meat for Philly cheese steaks.

I don't know about you, but my toys have taken over the kitchen. I really need to have a heart to heart with myself and decide what to keep and what to dispose of.

Now I NEED turkey.

It looks soooooo gooooood....just curious: How does the slicer stack up against an electric knife or some razor-sharp kitchen knife?

Great for some things, not so much for others. I wanted it for slicing cold meat for phillt cheesesteaks. I'm going to do some potatoes for chips later today. Got sidetracked yesterday. I take a couple pics. I need to do some cheese and veggies for sandwiches so I'll get an idea. Do some of the turkey too.
