da Weather made me Do'it

Postby OldUsedParts » Wed Oct 11, 2017 1:25 pm

I'll tell ya, Folks, this little cool snap has got me having to be outside so what better reason than BBQ ? Decided to fire up one end of the Kettle and do that Pork Link "indirectly" for 30 minutes each side and then heat the coals back up and do a direct 5 minute each side 2" steak. Lucked out and both were great - - - so great that I vacuum bagged half my steak and half the link for some "Good" leftovers later down the road.

That’s a heck of a good lunch.

Heed my warning on reheating that steak in the bag…see my failure thread.

Simmering pulled pork and brisket works great in the bags.

I did it on a steak and it continued to cook to the point Outlaw even said it was overdone. In the interest of full disclosure the bag did Spring a leak. Unsure if this had anything to do with it.

I took mine from frozen to pot of water…maybe defrosting would have helped as well?

It was definitely a beautiful day here today as well. I would have loved to grill our burgers outside today at the restaurant. Soon enough though! Great looking cook, oup!

You reminded me of this yesterday, so much I made the 30 minute drive out to leeston butchery, they have nz wide awards, their beef sausages are to die for. I bought 2x 20 packs, froze for later, but kept 2 out for my dinner tonight. I cook these and dress them. They are the best. I will start a thread on them later. Yours look real spicey. And yummy.
