Gimme Dem Peetzuhs !
So tonight we craved Pizza, but since we're in Pee Aye we've come to the conclusion that a ( Proper ) pizza is pretty much non existent in this State. Now, I could travel East 45 minutes over the bridge and get a Real Pizza in Jersey but we decided on brushing the snow off of the Akorn, grabbing the Pizza Stone and Lump and making our own.
Made a few with a great Pizza Sauce we found at ShopRite. First was our Naan Bread,( toasted Onion ) ,then some EVOO lightly brushed, then the Sauce, Whole Milk Shredded Mozzarella, 5 Cheese Pizza Blend ( Mozz, Asiago, Provolone, Romano, and Parmesan ) Red, Orange and Yellow Sweet Peppers, Yellow Onion, and Fresh Mozzarella Dollops.
Second Pie was all of that Minus the Peppers. Added Roni, Meatballs from our home made soup the other night and Cheddar Bratwurst.
Last Naan was a ( garbage ) pie.
That's Jersey/ New York lingo for
" Everything ".
Ran them for 8 minutes at 650/675 and Mangia Mangia.
Thanks for looking girls and boys.

Pizza Pie, in my Eyes

In the exact words from Otis in the original CARS 1 movie, ( which we've probably seen more times than the miles that are on Al Bundy's Plymouth Duster )...

How? Every time you post something it's better than the last. Truly inspirational. I think my son would eat pizza every day if I let him. Must not allow him to see this. Here I thought I was doing good getting Papa Murpheys and baking them myself.

That is a great looking pie. Pizza on the grill has become my nemesis. One of these days I’ll conquer it.

However, I DO believe you can do justice with no problems. We love Pizza, especially on the Akorn Stone.
You have an Egg right ?
Have you tried doing one on it with a stone ? Try Naan bread, then just build it from there. Most important part imho is to lightly brush the Naan with EVOO before applying a good Pizza Sauce.
Not sure if you have a stone, but I know you can get them on Home Depot Website. I think I paid 30$ for mine, but it's dual purpose. It's used as a Deflector stone when smoking. It sits in a 3 notch lip, that's why it's shaped like that.
When doing a pizza, it sits ON Top of the grate for 650 Temps.
It's Thicker than most stones, about 3/4" .

Now I have visions of pizza dancing in my head! That looks great, WV.
We're lucky that on Long Guyland you can find a decent pizza parlor within a short drive.

I love that you love and use naan bread. Great grub fo sur, lol. Have you tried making your own pizza sauce? Just that I make our sauce and can't believe how good it is. I don't know if you guys grow your own stuff over there or just find it easier to buy. Great pics also, but I kinda expect that now, lol.
