Pool cleaning day!

Postby bsooner75 » Sun Apr 29, 2018 8:25 pm

Had a beautiful day here in North Texas so we did some work around the yard. Started cleaning the pool to prep for summer and ate lunch and dinner on the patio. Hot dogs for lunch (so I’ll spare you any pictures) and chicken fajitas on the Kettle for dinner.

Thanks y’all!

Rambo - that they are but since we got the pool the wife refuses to swim in the lake. So I think we will have one for a while. Plus it keeps the kids busy in the summer.

Parts - you know it!

Side note - one of those jalapeños was a fire bomb. I eat them all the time. Maybe it was combo w/ the Sooner sauce but that sucker lit me up :)

Yes, it was great while the kids/Grandkids were here. Now they're grown and I'm buying chemicals, new Polaris 280, etc. I drained and resurfaced (paint) last year. I'm also very good at replacing pumps that go out. If your's go out, don't pay the local shop 4 times what you can do it yourself for; I can tell you how to do it.

Grub looks awesome sooner :salut:
I've only done chicken once on my kettle. Cooked direct. Ended up charred .
You cook it indirect. :?: Yours looks perfect.

Thanks Bill. Actually it was both. The coals were over about 1/2 to 3/4 of the kettle. I cooked in both temp zones to not scorch but get the right char on the chicken. I too burned more than my fair share before I figured this out. Also cut my coal usage down.
