I was wondering if it could make sense to combine marinade and rub in some cuts like fajitas, flank or hanger steak.
Example: pineapple-soy marinade for 12 hours and then, just before grilling (after complete drying) paprika-salt-pepper-cumin-garlic rub.
Normally I use just one of the two, but...
Anyone's tried?
Grazie!

I actually do that more often than not. Usually marinate then rub but sometimes I put the rub and then throw it in the marinade. I don't know the right way. I just do whatever strikes me at the time.

other than time spent, they eventually meet each other in the end so ?why not mix and spread?
