ECB to the Power of 5

Postby OldUsedParts » Tue May 22, 2018 2:37 pm

I had lots of Veggies that needed cooking or trashing so I managed to use up some of 5 today. Also had the mad craving for some ABTs thanks to Justin's awesome pic the other day. I started to tell Y'all that the veggies were because my Cardiologist recommended I eat more of them but I didn't think you'd let me get by with it. :dont: Can't fire up Kingsford without at least some kind of Protein (aka meat) so I put a couple of pre-seasoned Pork Steaks from Hebert's Specialty Meats amoungst the rabbit food so the bacon wouldn't get lonely. Suckle Busters Hootchie Mama rubbed up against the yeller crooked necks and ABTs with Zesty Italian on the squashes for glue. There is green veggies (aka jalapeno) under the bacon if you looks close. :laughing7: I "almost" ate the entire plate or at least it sure feels that way.

Looks awesome, EM :salut:
How where the oink steaks :?:
I got a couple of them from that half a hog I bought in the brine to cook this afternoon. Cant decide whether to do them over coals or in my pellet spitter :dont:

I aint had very good luck with this hog I bought. Comes out good if you cook it slow in a crock pot but tougher then shoe leather when I try to gue it, :(

thanks, Wild Bill, my only complaint with the Pellet Pooper is that it takes so long and I don't know if a Steak is worth the time :dont:

you do need a 22-OldSmokey for just that kind of cook ;)
you should go by the factory and pick one up
and meet Bruce Jamison, the boss - Great Guy!
you want the "FlipSide" grill grate
the tall legs
the Magic Bracket
he has both 2" & 3" temp gauges. there is discussion where to put it
Bruce mounts them in the top. but most of us mount them in the side of the lid
mine is up close to the top. I can see mine through my kitchen window.
some mount them down close to the bottom of the lid close to grill level. but the probe can interfere with the food...
and then I'll show you the 4 different ways to setup for the different cooks, foil pans, etc..
not just made in the US. not just made in Texas. but made in Houston in the same building, by the 2nd family since 1923

Very tempting, Capt'n - my ECB is showing her age so I may be headed South before you know it. :salut: :texas:
