10 min Reeb-Eye Lunch

Postby OldUsedParts » Wed Jun 06, 2018 1:08 pm

I was dining alone today, which is not unusual for me, and since I had defrosted a steak for later this week - - - why not today? Grilled it on the ECB over Kingsford Charcoal at 5 min per side. Speaking of sides, I got out of the box for me with a baked Yam (Sweet Tater) and chopped up green stuff with ranch. I'm full and happy.

thanks, I forgot to mention that I sprinkled it generously with Suckle Busters Campfire Steak Seasoning - - - one thing for sure, it'll make you grill a lot more steaks once you taste it  :salut:

If you gotta eat alone, might as well make it a great looking plate like that!

More I look at your pic it looks like what we call kumara the Maori name for sweet potatoe. I believe ours originally came from South America?

Pard, we Sutherners sometimes use the language a little loosely but I have always heard Sweet taters referred to as Yams. :dont: Back when I was growing up most of them came from East of the Sabine River (aka Louisiana) but I imagine a lot are grown locally now.

Giggle says this about them:
That sweet, orange-colored root vegetable that you love so dearly is actually a sweet potato. Yes, all so-called “yams” are in fact sweet potatoes. Most people think that long, red-skinned sweet potatoes are yams, but they really are just one of many varieties of sweet potatoes.
