Schichtfleisch and Chicken feet

Postby daBertl » Mon Jun 18, 2018 8:16 am

Yesterday i tortured a dutch Oven for my friends with maybe the most famous dish for dutch Ovens. Here in Germany nearly everybody started his dutch career with a Schichtfleisch.
My wife instead wanted to eat her chcicken feet. Also this is traditional for Thailand. I eat them, but is not very much for tasting.
As Desert i made some Plum Crumble and forgot the good Fotos

Schichtfleisch and the plum crumble look and sound good but I'll pass on the chicken feet but I have no doubt eaten worse.

They are also not my favourite food, but my wife and the bigger kid like them.
I don´t think that they taste bad, but i think, there is too less for eat on them :D
So if they make them happy, they con do it everyday if they want.

I'm with PT so limit my plate to the Plum Beauty - - - - I've walked barefoot in a Chicken Coop and that's enuff for me :whiteflag: Had a friend that raised earthworms and he offered me a saucer of fried ones which I handed back to him with my cordials

I Luv'ya Bert but most Texans " Ain't eat'n no chicken's foot". Kinda like that time I went to Idaho and killed a spike Elk; the Wranglers and Camp Cook insisted that it was a tradition that the lucky hunter eats the mountain oysters; let's just say I p'sd'em off pretty bad when I refused.

I will say this; if anybody could make chicken feet taste good and I was forced to eat it, I'd want you to be cooking it for me. :chef:

never had M.O.s, however, the best part of working a Calf Crop every year was the Calf "Fries" that the Rancher's Wife cooked for us afterwards

It all looks great! I've never tried fried chicken feet, but I do use them for stock base when I can find them. Makes a really rich gravy base, for those that have never used them.
