A gray and cool day here in the house of Piney. Time for some thighs.
My old, trusty kettle has been an absolutely killer chicken cooking machine after I bought the Vortex.
The thighs are rubbed with Mad Max's Turkey rub (just awesome on chicken) and on the Vortex with a couple of hickory chunks for smoke:
Flipped about 20 minutes a side and my wife's pieces were ready - she doesn't like sauce.
I sauced mine with Stubbs Original and let the sauce set about 5 minutes:
Killer!

It's an aftermarket piece - a steel cone to contain the coals and radiate heat around the grill.

It turned my Weber into a mean chicken cooking machine.
