Lobstah Fettuccini Alfredo Via Akorn

Postby woodenvisions » Sun Sep 30, 2018 6:48 pm

So as I mentioned earlier this week, I have/had family in Maine.
As hard as we tried, we couldn't swing the trip this year. All week I've been seeing pics of the Ocean and LOBSTERS !

Weve been craving some so bad Its been driving us nuts. Two of my brothers came home to Jersey yesterday and I get a phone call asking if we'd be home today??

Knowing my bro, I Knew he had Lobsters for us. He brought up 7 beauties, ranging from 1.75- 2.5 lbs which is the preferred size for us.
My other brother had 20 ( yes 20 ) of them for us but didn't know if we had the room or time to process them and were glad because that's wayyy too many.
They came back with a total of 60, yeah 60 Lobsters. They got them right off the boat for 4.10$ a lb which is dirt cheap .
So basically, today they made thier rounds delivering ( Gifts ) :):):)

We gave ours a warm bath, and Deb and I picked them apart and put them back in a sealed container in the fridge.
We were contemplating on what to make with them since they were de-shelled and cleaned.
Decided on some Pasta with Home Made Alfredo Sauce and Garlic Bread.
I was thinking to do this on the stove but saw my Paella Pan sitting there all by herself.
Ok, Paella Pan on the Stove ?? ....Nope.

Paella Pan in the Oven ?? ....Nope

So I got the Lump Hot and temp about 275 and started making the dish.

Simply Melted some Butter , then 1 Cup of Heavy Cream, then 1 Cup of Grated Parmesan. Let cook a few minutes and added the Chopped Up Lobster Chunks.
Continuously stirring and then added some Fettuccine. Mixed it all together and simmered 10 minutes.
Added some freshly Shaved Reggiano, Parsley, Fresh Sage chopped up and Rosemary and Tyme.

After it thickened up I added about 3/4 cup of Whole Milk and stirred it up and served with some Garlic Bread.
Perfect flavor balance and I was SHOCKED when Deb asked....

How did you cook this ?? On the Akorn ?

I said yes, is it ok ?

She goes...its got a slightly Smokey flavor, its really good !!

I almost passed out lol...

Hope the pics do it justice, this was a special cook for me :)

Awesome, Poco Pal, what's the difference between Fettuccini and Alfredo :?:

Thank you Brother !

Fettuccini is the type/style of Pasta.
Alfredo is a type of Cheese Sauce.

Emm, here's a basic BUT very very good Alfredo Sauce Recipe. Make this and put some diced up Grilled Chicken Breasts in it, its excellent.

Heat butter in a frypan slowly.
Slowly add 1 cup of Heavy cream, stirring often for 5 minutes.
Add 1 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese and keep stirring another 5 to 10 minutes.

Add Pepper and enjoy

Thank you Sir, this one had some sentimental value to it. Lots of good memories regarding Maine and Family going back to 1980 so when we were given these it made it much better :):)

Yes sir Boots....

4.10$ a lb isn't too uncommon tho in certain areas up there. You just need to know where to look as far as what Lobster boats to hover near :)
Last time we were there was 4 summers ago. We ate Lobster, Shrimp, Scallops, Dungenous Crab Legs and Whole Bellied Fried Clams and regular Steamers with Drawn Butter every night for 10 days...

Ummm...maybe its better we Don't move up there...lol
