When the turkeys are cheap…

And Hogwaller Honey is BOGO, you fire up the smoker and make a tasty meal.

I’m loving the color and flavor the new Hogwaller Honey adds.

Kept this super simple. No brine, just olive oil and then dusted with the rub. Tossed in blue with some hickory and basted with butter every 45 minutes. I think it was my best bird to date. White meat was moist and the leg was excellent.

Paired w/ leftover dressing, skillet potatoes and a Brussels sprouts salad my wife threw together.

This was the first time firing up Blue since June (pre surgery). Proud to report, just like riding a bike :)

Thanks Russ.

My Aunt makes it. I haven’t the foggiest idea. She uses my Meemaw’s old recipe. I know it has sage in it because my Meemaw (the perfectionist) always said it either had too much or not enough sage every time she made it :) She was an amazing cook and could always find something she didn’t like about what she made.

Nice looking bird and plate sooner. Now you better go buy some beer and get ready for that title game coming up.

So get this…my kid has a piano Recital at 2:00 Saturday. Best I figure that’ll be mid 3rd quarter. What was that teacher thinking? I told my wife she has to drive and I can watch on my phone. I’ll stay in the car until a couple minutes before it starts and she’ll save me a seat. Ill definitely be getting updates on my phone during the Recital.

She also has a play during the Cowboy game Thursday night…

Best if you miss both games so you won't be so disappointed. Then go home and eat some of that good looking leftover bird to make you feel better.

LOL. I quit getting emotionally invested with the Cowboys years ago.

As far as Saturday goes…we’ll see. If our D gets one or two stops, I don’t see the offense being anywhere near as sluggish as they were in October.

Thanks all.

Russ - I'd love to look at that dressing recipe. It sounds really similar.

Parts - not much comes between me and Sooner football but my kids and family are at the top of that list. That being said, I might just spike my cell phone in celebration / disgust in the middle of O Silent Night

Outstanding! I used 1836 on our Thanksgiving bird, just got my HW honey in the mail the other day and tried it out on chicken.. All I can say is the Christmas bird is gonna be covered in it!
