I spritz mine with a mixture of Worcestershire, water and hot sauce every couple hours. Some do it more some less. My smoker seems to have a naturally moist cooking chamber (don’t have to add a water pan) so I like this time frame for how the bark develops. Kinda go by feel and how you want your bark.

I'll brush on a little vegetable oil/vinegar mixture occasionally then hit it with a little more rub

I like what Rambo says, the only difference "if I spritz" (honestly most of the time I am too lazy to spritz) I add the rub to the oil and vinegar and use as a mop.
