A Great Easter

Postby Smoking Piney » Sun Apr 21, 2019 5:34 pm

My wife and I went over to visit family this morning for a light breakfast. It's a gorgeous day and we had fun with the grand kids. :D

Image

Back to the house for some yard work - planting bulbs and mulching. It's great to spend an entire day outside again. :D

This morning, I had visitors - a turkey hen and a HUGE Tom (turkey hunters wet dream with a beard that darn near dragged the ground :D ). The hen was OK with me taking pics. Big Tom, not so much. He'll be back...........

I put some thin cut pork chops on for dinner tonight - marinaded in McCormick's Brazilian Steakhouse Marinade (absolutely killer on pork and beef), and cooked hot and fast on the BGE with some mesquite chips to kick it up a bit:

It was a great Easter this year, and I hope that all of you had a great Easter! :D

Great spending time with grandkids, we did too. Your cook looks top notch and I'd love to try that. That turkey wouldn't last long around here.lol.

Happy Easter.

Thank, Russ! :D

I wish I caught a pic of the big Tom. He really is huge and a turkey hunter's wet dream. I'm in the woods. There's a flock that lives close and they make the rounds on the houses. They're used to people and normally don't care.

Nice! And a visit from the gobblers. It's Turkey season out my way and the turkeys are everywhere except in the line of fire. Lol!

Happy Easter, bud!

Looks like a perfect day. The granddaughter is quite a cutie and the food looks scrumptious.

That is cool. I'm not sure what Fonzie would have done, meeting a turkey in the garden. Going crazy if he spots a magpie on the neighbor's roof or closer.

Both him and I would have eaten thos chops fairly quick. Looks good.
