This is only about the 3rd time I've tried this and I seem to be getting worse instead of better at it. However, the Shrimp and Squash tasted good but I ended up throwing the Rice away because it didn't cook properly, even with the directions.

I would eat that. The producer of rice sounds like he's of swedish origin.

Thanks, Joe, it's my favorite Shrimp Recipe but I'm not sure about the Rice. I may get brave and try another pan sometime using Broth or Stock, more water and a lot longer cooking time. It called for a 45 minute simmer after bringing to a boil and then a 10 min off the burner steam but still wasn't edible for me. It was more like eating sand.

Yes. My wife tried to to introduce wild rice in our diet. Happened only once. Tastes like cardboard. Same with full grain pasta. Not edible.OldUsedParts wrote:Thanks, Joe, it's my favorite Shrimp Recipe but I'm not sure about the Rice. U'll get it Emm, don't give up.
Get yourself a Rice Cooker, it will change how you feel about Rice.
Take it from someone that used to think that stuff was just for throwing at the Groom after he said " I Do ".....

To heck with the rice. The important parts of the meal look good to me!

I have a Rice Cooker but when the Directions mentioned 45 min simmer after bringing to a boil, I didn't think that it would work when most of my Rice Cooks in it are around 20 minutes.
