LABOR DAY THROWDOWN ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
Well, you knew it was coming!
Our next throwdown is going to be.......drumroll please!
Aquatic edibles!
A qualifying entry MUST have some sort of aquatic edible (kale doesn't count weirdos!).
The aquatic edible MUST be cooked over an open flame (or a flame contained within a grill body - basically, cook it with fire).
It does not matter whether it is a freshwater edible, saltwater edible, fish, shrimp, lobster, crab, oyster, seal ( ), shark, crawfish, etc. It must be some sort of meat.
To keep it honest, and ensure that the entry was cooked for the throwdown, there MUST be a trident somewhere in the picture. It can be an actual trident. It can be a picture of a trident. It can't be photoshopped in.
For the sake of completeness, this is a trident:
Though this is a trident, unless you earned the right to wear it, it shouldn't be in the picture (and if you did earn the right to wear it, it will count, and thank you for your service ):
Since this is our first Aquatic throwdown, no side dishes are allowed on the plate. The intent is to focus on the aquatic edible itself. There may, however, be more than one such aquatic edible on said plate.
Finally, all entries must be submitted to tbbqfthrowdown@gmail.com no later than midnight, central time, on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2017!
Please post any questions in this thread so everyone can see the question and the answer.
Have fun!

They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning,
No-one you see, is smarter than he,
And we know Flipper, lives in a world full of wonder,
Flying there-under, under the sea!
Everyone loves the king of the sea,
Ever so kind and gentle is he,
Tricks he will do when children appear,
Until Okie nailed him with his underwater spear!
No-one you see, is smarter than he,
And we know Flipper, lives in a world full of wonder,
Flying there-under, under the sea!
Everyone loves the king of the sea,
Ever so kind and gentle is he,
Tricks he will do when children appear,
Until Okie nailed him with his underwater spear!

That's not a Spear, Soldier, that's a "Trident"

I'm assuming that anything used to enhance the flavor of the "thing that swims" such as lemons, garlic, cilantro or etc is allowed and not considered a "side"

Re: LABOR DAY THROWDOWN ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
Best motor bike I had was a 750 triumph trident, man that could lay a patch. Ok thanks for the chance to enter this, winter doesn't help but I'm hoping we get a break to do something. I hope you don't get a seal entry, lol. Can't wait to see pics. BTW good choice in aquatic!
