Halloween Throwdown Winner!!
Sorry y'all, I got really busy when the deadline expired.
But, before I go any further, thank you everyone for your entries. It's really good to see what everyone is making and it helps promote the forum. I will be doing more of these as we go, promise!
Now, without further ado, congratulations to our winner, Norway_Joe!!!!
And a great effort to our second place finisher, GRailsback!
The remaining entrants are as follows:
1. BSooner75
2. Rambo
3. GRailsback
4. OUP
5. tex_toby
6. Norway_Joe
Thanks again for playing everyone! I'd love to see about double the entries next time. Who's in???

Re: Halloween Throwdown Winner!!
What a surprise. I didn't see this coming. All those awesome entries. Before this one I've only made a few chili with SB competition packs. I therefore needed a recipe for the throwdown.
This is the recipe I used:
2 tbsp olive oil
2 yellow onions - diced
3 garlic cloves- crushed
2 pounds ground beef
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup ancho chile powder
2 tbsp cumin
1 tbsp paprika powder
1 tbsp brown sugar
29 ounces diced tomatoes. I ran them in the food processor. Don't like tomato chunks.
6 ounces tomato paste. I reduced this to 4
4 cups beef broth.
I drain the beef and onions on some kitchen towels before throwing it in the pot. I also try to keep the ground beef in chunks.
The white stuff on top is a little sour cream. The cheese is cheddar.
Served with a little bread. It came out very tasty.
Thank you.

Re: Halloween Throwdown Winner!!
Thank you, Toby. Strange thing is that I've visited almost 40 of the states but never made it to Texas. Next US summerholiday will be a Texas tour. Was hoping for the summer 22, but with the latest developments I'm in doubt.tex_toby wrote:BIG Congrats, Joe! We all know you are a true Texan at heart.
